History:

The Disciple Church was organized in the 1830s in Nittany Valley area under the preaching influence of people such as Rev. Nathan Mitchell.  The Salona congregation erected a church edifice in 1835.  It was used by the Disciples for some years, but eventually passed into the hands of the Reformed church, who razed it and used it in the building of the present United Church of Christ in Salona.  The cemetery is still used for burials.
