History:

George and Marie Parkman owned a farm in Lamar Township, at 5 Shortway Road in Mackeyville.  Upon their deaths, they were entombed in a mausoleum vault erected on their property.  Their last wish was to be buried facing Interstate 80.  The three children of the Parkmans do not live in the area.  When Thomas and Sherry Yarrison bought the property about 3 years ago, the Parkman children offered to move the mausoleum, but the Yarrisons (unrelated) allowed it to remain.   One of the Parkmans was cremated and the other was not.
