History:

William B. Brownwas a prominent newspaperman in Harrisburg, rising to the position of  supervisor of the State Capitol newsroom.  Brown worked for the Harrisburg Telegraph, Harrisburg Patriot, and International News Service.  He also ran the Amity Hall Inn.  Brown had a large rural land tract in the Caldwell area, in what was known as Staver's Hollow, also known as Brown's Hollow, where he spent his leisure hours.  His request was to be buried in front of a large boulder on the hillside on his property, which was done.
