In July 1893, berry-pickers at the headwaters of Lick Run, in the northern part of the township near Kreamer Dam, found what appeared to be a four or five weeks' old grave mound in the woods near the site.  Local officials were contacted to follow up on the matter, but the resolution is not recorded.
